Most of the beaches in Raja Ampat are white sand. That's why a lot of visitors like to go there. There are hundreds of big and small islands in the archipelago that are surrounded by coral reef. They are the main source of this white sand. Parrotfish bite the corals and release them into the water as fine white sand. Water current and waves bring them onto the beaches.
Big waves often brake the corals into smaller chunks and deliver them on to the beach. Waves that land on the beaches will continually grind the broken corals into sand. This is the process of how white sand is made naturally in most tropical islands not.
