In my recent trip to Raja Ampat, I organized sightseeing tours to two karst islets in Kabui bay area. The first one was called Wawiyai View Point whereas the second one was Kabui Gate. Exploring these karsts, we went through the big rock islets by a small motorized boat. The water in the Gate Karst was shallow. Some parts of the beach were covered by white sand. We stopped for a while there to enjoy the beautiful scenery and did some birdwatching.

Waigeo, Kabui bay, Gam, Arborek, Dampier Strait |
I brought a pair of Visionking 10×42 binoculars and a Kinglux 20-60×60 spotting scope. They significantly enhanced the birding experience of 4 tour participants who came from Germany, France, and Australia.

Birdwatching |
We were able to watch Lesser Frigatebird, Spice Imperial Pigeon, Beach Kingfisher, Stephan's Emerald Dove, Olive-backed Sunbird, Singing Starling, White-breasted Woodswallow, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Eastern Osprey, and Brahminy Kite and a lot more.

The Poisonous Boxfish |
In the shallow water of Gate Karst, we saw a box fish. It was a poisonous fish so we kept a safe distance from it. Back to the guesthouse where we stayed, we still enjoyed snorkeling where we saw a lot of fish such as Striped-surgeonfish, Butterflyfish, Anemonefish, and a lot more. It was a nice adventure for everyone who participated in the tour.
