Hiking, Birdwatching, Swimming, Snorkeling and Sightseeing in Raja Ampat islands |
We will wake up early in the morning at 04.30 to make preparation such as wearing hiking/ sport shoes and preparing our binoculars and camera. We will have hot tea or coffee and then at 05.00 we will start walking up the slopes behind our guesthouse to the top of the hill where Red Bird of Paradise gather, dance and mate. When the sun rises in the East, the male paradise birds begin to call their female counterparts. Several male birds compete one another to show their best courtship dance. If a female Red Bird of Paradise is impressed with the dance, she will come closer and mate with the male that performs the best dance. We could watch the paradise birds until arouns 09.00.
